The complex interdependencies of signalling and telecommunications and other safety critical equipment and systems in the rail sector pose real challenges for operators and manufacturers. The S-Bane will be equipped with CBTC-technology (Communication Based Train Control), while the Fjernbane has to live up to the rules for the European standard system known as European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS). The new signalling systems will cause fewer delays, give the opportunity for higher speed and more trains. We are building a better ETCS onboard solution, to make the signalling system of the future cost-effective, flexible and future-proof. The Signalling Company is the result of a joint-venture between two Belgian companies: ERTMS Solutions , an industry leader in railway testing, maintenance and systems integration, and Lineas , the largest private rail freight operator in Europe. The overall background is that the Danish rail-sector suffers from a legacy signalling system, which puts capacity utilisation and punctuality highly at risk.
